Course Objective:

- To enable delegates to apply sound health and safety principles to the management of health and safety at work.
- To enable delegates to become competent and demonstrate this by successfully completing a practical and written exam to the performance criteria specified by IOSH.
- To build up an in-depth awareness of health and safety practices, its implementation and the legal aspects and how to apply it in their workplace.
- To understand health and safety risk, its assessment and the use of accident investigation and prevention.

All Managers and Safety leaders who have basic existing knowledge/experience, who are not experts in Health and Safety but wish to extend knowledge and skills to become competent to manage health and safety.

- Understanding How / Why Incidents Occur
- Understanding a Managers Employers Responsibilities Applying Management Principles to health safety at work
- Behavioural Safety
- Our Legal Framework
- Health and Safety Management Systems
- Achieving legal compliance by Assessing Risk, Completing Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work
- Managing: COSHH, PPE, Manual Handling, Heights, Electricity, Work Stations, Fire, Noise, Lighting, Slips, Trips & Falls, Stress etc
- Communicating Health and Safety in your company
- Accident and Incident Prevention, Investigation and Reporting
- Measuring H&S Performance, Performance Auditing etc
- Revision & Assessment of Learning (day 5) Multi Choice Exam
- Application of Leaning - successful completion of a practical exam - a work based H&S Assignment relevant to the delegates individual work place

NEBOSH Certificate and Diploma, IOSH Registered, IOSH and MHEA Fellowship Members
