Primary Scrapers
The Sensator II Primary scraper acts on the belt at the discharge drum, just after the point where the product leaves the belt. It removes the majority of troublesome fines which otherwise stick to the belt and fall under the conveyor as spillage.
A very high proportion of carryback is now immediately returned to the main material flow. The standard blade is constructed of polyurethane segments mounted on a supporting beam. When working in conjunction with the Sensator II Secondary Scraper, almost 100% cleaning efficiency is achieved.
A novel torsion mount design provides a ‘fail safe’ suspension system for the primary blade. This design protects from belt damage – a dangerous problem with many other primary scrapers. Should any object or belt surface defect impact upon the blades, the torsion mount allows the scraper to move away from the surface of the belt. This design allows Tungsten Carbide tipped blades to be used safely on conveyors carrying abrasive materials – providing performance, value and extended operating life.
