Belt Turning Station
The Problem
Very hot material reducing the effective life of the belt and poor belt tracking.
Material: Clinker, approx 180 deg Centigrade, 230 TPH Conveyor: 140m drum centres, 1,000mm wide, 1m/sec,heat resistant Butyl belt, tail end tension unit
The Solution
To install a belt turning station (unique to Ace) this trebles the cooling time for the surface of the belt after discharge before carrying product. This is possible as the single 180 degree twist on the return strand utilises both sides of the belt. The belt provided has equal thickness covers on both sides of the belt to maximise belt life.
Additionally, a gravity take up unit was fitted, and a computer heat monitoring system, to record actual product temperatures. Belt cleaning is by a combination of driven brush and fines removal unit, so as to protect the belt joint when it is running in reverse
